Managed Website Hosting & Infrastructure
Best for: Businesses leaving basic shared hosting who need uptime, backups, SSL, and expert infrastructure support.
Ideal client
Revenue-dependent sites where downtime, slow support tickets, or missing backups create real business risk.
What you get
Delivered by Genacom’s in-house team, headquartered in Napa, California and serving clients nationwide — flat monthly pricing, direct expert access, and no surprise hourly invoices.
Why it matters
Hosting is the layer everything else depends on. Slow servers make every page slow, missing backups turn a bad day into a lost business, and a host that does not monitor leaves you to discover outages from customers. Managed hosting removes that entire category of risk for less than the cost of one outage.
What managed hosting includes
Managed hosting at Genacom is infrastructure plus the people who run it. Your site lives on servers we build, patch and tune for your platform, behind a content delivery network and a web application firewall, with SSL certificates that renew themselves and DNS that we manage so records never go stale. A 99.9% uptime SLA is standard, and the same engineers who run the servers are the ones who answer when something looks wrong.
- Server and stack management: operating system, web server, PHP or Node runtime, database and cache tuned for your traffic and patched on a schedule.
- SSL, DNS and email deliverability: certificates, DNS records, SPF, DKIM and DMARC handled so forms and transactional email land in the inbox.
- CDN and edge caching: static assets and, where possible, full pages served from the edge for fast loads worldwide.
- Daily offsite backups: full file and database backups stored in a separate region, with tested restores and point-in-time recovery.
- Staging environments: every update and change is tested on a copy of your site before it reaches customers.
- Capacity planning: we watch traffic trends and scale ahead of launches, seasons and campaigns instead of after the outage.
Managed hosting vs. shared hosting
Shared hosting rents space on a server shared with hundreds of other sites, with support that stops at "the server is up". Managed hosting from Genacom means dedicated resources, security configured for your application, monitoring that alerts a human, and a team that fixes the site itself, not just the box it runs on. For a revenue-dependent site the difference shows up the first time something breaks at 9 PM on a Friday.
We have hosted and managed sites for Jacuzzi, Spalding, Zerowater, Canteen and hundreds of medium-sized businesses. When Spalding needed a full restore, our team did it all. That is the standard for every account, not an enterprise upgrade.
How onboarding works
- Audit: we review your current host, DNS, email, integrations and traffic, and take a complete backup before touching anything.
- Build: your new environment is configured, hardened and load-tested with a copy of your site.
- Cutover: DNS moves during a low-traffic window; visitors see no downtime and no broken forms.
- Monitor: uptime, response time, SSL, errors and security events are watched 24/7 from day one, with a monthly report of what we saw and did.
Hosting is one layer of nTier website management; it is included in every plan alongside security, backups, monitoring, updates and changes. See pricing or read about backup and disaster recovery.
Our hosting standards
- Isolation: each client site runs in its own environment with its own resources, credentials and backups; a problem on one site never touches another.
- Current software: operating systems, web servers, PHP and database engines are kept on supported versions and patched within days of security releases.
- Encrypted everywhere: TLS on every request, HSTS enabled, encrypted backups at rest and in transit, and SSH-only administration.
- Observed 24/7: uptime checks from multiple regions every minute, server health metrics, log analysis and alerting to on-call engineers.
- Recoverable: daily offsite backups retained for 30 days or longer, monthly restore tests and a written recovery runbook for your site.
- Documented: DNS, email, integrations and deployment steps are recorded so any Genacom engineer can support your site, not just one person.
If you prefer to stay on AWS, Google Cloud, WP Engine or another provider, we can manage the site there and still deliver monitoring, backups and support; the plan is scoped to your environment.
Frequently asked questions
Is hosting included in Genacom website management?
Yes. Managed hosting, SSL, DNS, CDN and daily offsite backups are part of every nTier plan. There is no separate hosting bill.
Can you host WooCommerce, Shopify or a custom application?
We host WordPress, WooCommerce and custom PHP, Node and legacy applications on our managed infrastructure. Shopify and Webflow sites stay on their platforms; we manage them there.
What is your uptime guarantee?
A 99.9% uptime SLA backed by 24/7 monitoring and emergency response. Planned maintenance happens in low-traffic windows and is announced in advance.
Will migrating my site cause downtime?
No. We build and test the new environment with a copy of your site first, then move DNS during a quiet window. Visitors, forms and email keep working throughout.
